New Kennel Facility Progress
Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk
beside the fire: it is the time for home. ~Edith Sitwell
The long days of winter are upon us!
What an odd winter we are experiencing – lots of rain and highs averaging in the 40s. Not
your typical Ohio winter! We aren’t complaining about the temperatures but the rain is making a mess.
Unfortunately, they go hand in hand. We have daffodils that are lifting their lovely heads way too
far out of the soil for January!
The kennel is in full operation…..what a JOY to walk into the building on a cold day
and feel WARMTH! And an even BIGGER joy is how we can clean the kennels in 10 degree weather and not even
have to worry about ice on the inside floors OR the outside kennel runs. It is a strange experience spraying
a hose in the dead of winter.
The dogs are LOVING the winter, as usual. The mud is a new element for wintertime….but
they don’t mind a bit. Mud is right up there next to water, sticks and string cheese on the Labrador
Top Ten List. The lack of sledding is a downer for everyone at the Beougher Ranch. The
dogs have had to do without except for a quickie day or two. The kids gave up and started going to Snow
Trails to ski and snowboard. I think the dogs would LOVE to go along…..I don’t know how the
Snow Trails staff would feel about that………
We are looking forward to next month and the Hoosier
LRC Specialty in Indianapolis. Clay and Tommy will be participating and it promises to be a fun time for
all of us!
Make yourself a cocoa or a cappuccino and curl up in
a cozy chair while you can……before long the springtime will be peeking through the calendar pages……..
